About

Hi!

My name is Sandra.

I have schizoaffective disorder.

Welcome to Mind in Pieces. I’m glad you’ve found your way here.

I launched this blog in 2025 with a clear purpose: to shed light on the often misunderstood world of mental health. As your guide on this journey, I’m bringing both personal experience and researched knowledge to the table.

I’m a single mother living with schizoaffective disorder (bipolar type). Balancing parenthood with the ups and downs of my own mental health has been… interesting, to say the least.

I’ve experienced three major psychotic episodes (and several minor ones), each one leaving me feeling more fragmented, but also a little more resilient. These experiences, challenging as they were, ignited my passion  for helping others learn about and get support for mental health.

Mind in Pieces focuses on various mental health issues, including anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, and schizophrenia/schizoaffective disorder. My aim is to provide easy-to-understand, researched information accessible to both those dealing with mental illness and those who want to understand it better.

Whether you’re here for yourself or to support a loved one, you’ll find resources to help guide you through the often confusing world of mental health. Together, we can help each other learn more and be more compassionate when it comes to understanding mental illness.

I invite you to join me on this journey of growth, healing, and empowerment. Let’s explore mental health, celebrate our resilience, and embrace our shared humanity. Remember, understanding is the first step towards change, and every mind deserves compassion, regardless of its pieces.
